Track and Field By: Alyssa I was flooded by a crowd of people I couldn’t see anything, but bobbling heads As I was looking for some light in this dark area I heard a loud bang shot into the air Everyone began to scream I couldn’t decipher one word they said Words like… Smith, Jones, Will… Nothing made sense Just as I thought everyone was here was insane I suddenly spotted a bright stream of lights pointed at an arena I jerked my way through Pushing, being shoved, whatever it took, I was determined to get to the arena As I reached the end bars, sweat welled on my forehead And I realized The US track team was competing against Brazil’s team I was stunned by how intense it felt The lights blaring at you The energetic, enthusiastic fans cheering you on The smell of grass and sand filling the air And I realized, I was at the Olympic Stadium

I was flooded by a crowd of people
I couldn’t see anything, but bobbling heads
As I was looking for some light in this dark area
I heard a loud bang shot into the air
Everyone began to scream
I couldn’t decipher one word they said
Words like…
Smith, Jones, Will…
Nothing made sense
Just as I thought everyone was here was insane
I suddenly spotted a bright stream of lights pointed at an arena
I jerked my way through
Pushing, being shoved, whatever it took, I was determined to get to the arena
As I reached the end bars, sweat welled on my forehead
And I realized
The US track team was competing against Brazil’s team
I was stunned by how intense it felt
The lights blaring at you
The energetic, enthusiastic fans cheering you on
The smell of grass and sand filling the air
And I realized, I was at the Olympic Stadium
